Canadian Pacific Airlines became CP Air in 1968 and adopted the new corporate logo along with CP Rail, CP Ships, etc. The new name and colour scheme first appeared on 737200 CF-CPB (701). The new colours were a radical departure from the well known and much loved Canada Goose symbol and won many design awards, but did take some getting used to, even in the 1960s. The DC-8s and sole remaining DC-3 (CF-CRX) were all repainted in the new colours with only the venerable DC-6 retaining the Goose scheme until phased out in 1970. Aircraft 701 and 702 (CF-CPC) were CP Air’s first 737s.
